AGFA HealthCare Enterprise ImagingFollowing the appointment of Enterprise Imaging, Alliance Medical is implementing an advanced cloud-based solution across all of its UK sites. This state-of-the-art approach supports Alliance Medical UK’s Future Unified Diagnostic Information System (FUDIS) project, a revolutionary move to transition imaging services across 120 sites for all of Alliance Medical’s UK community diagnostic centres (CDCs), static imaging sites for PET-CT, MRI, CT, and other imaging modalities and its extensive fleet of mobile, modular and relocatable units, delivering over 400,000 annual exams.

Session Synopsis

Delivering scalable integrated IT solutions for dispersed Radiology poses new challenges. Combining native streaming technology from AGFA HealthCare’s Enterprise Imaging Platform and AWS HealthImaging – which offers high availability and low-latency cloud performance – unlocks new possibilities in Radiology and beyond. Together, AGFA HealthCare, AWS and other key partners, are building the first large national federated imaging solution for Alliance Medical Limited’s (AML) UK operation.

This interactive round-table, accompanied by a complimentary lunch for session registrants, will share some of the challenges faced, and highlight innovations for a scalable, secure and agile solution. The transformation opportunities and early wins will also be outlined by a panel of engaging clinical and IT experts. Delegates can expect to:

Having been at Alliance Medical for 8 years, he has many years of prior board-level experience as a Clinical/Medical Director for several major UK-centered independent healthcare organisations. He manages governance, research, radiation safety, and AI for Alliance Medical, and is an integral part of a team which oversees the implementation of a new Enterprise Imaging solution.

Nick has been engaged in the innovative PACS delivery in the North of England since the first deployment in 2006, and subsequently held Governance and Board-level roles in independent sector radiology businesses for many years. In his AGFA role, he helps to ensure customer solutions deliver best value, service improvement, and can leverage innovations around AI and cross-enterprise workflows.

At AWS, Dr Illing oversees strategy and engagement for healthcare and nonprofit customers worldwide. An academic Interventional Radiologist by training, he was previously Director of the Interventional Oncology Service at University College Hospitals London, and also holds positions as Honorary Associate Professor at University College London and Visiting Professor of Informatics and Imaging at Oxford University. He maintains an active presence in academia through ongoing presentations and publications in the field.
