KLAS Global Summit Day 2 opened on this glorious day in Northern Italy, and AGFA HealthCare executives Véronique Lessens and Roberto Anello are pleased to report the latest happenings at this pivotal industry event.

The day began with a presentation by Connor Bice, Senior Director of Insights, Arch Collaborative, KLAS Research, . His session, titled “Burnout”, explored the critical issue of burnout amongst healthcare teams. With clinical professionals reporting high levels of depersonalisation, the industry recognises the importance to address this important phenomena, and Connor’s session offered valuable datapoints extracted from KLAS’s measured information. This progressed to a tabletop discussion on the same topic, where delegates could discuss innovative technologies and change management practices to reduce burnout and staffing shortages.

Up next, we heard from industry in a dedicated “Patient Voice Presentation”. Delivered by Annie Howitt (Chief Nursing & Midwifery Information Officer, Royal Women’s Hospital), Benita Butler (Acting Director EMR, Royal Melbourne Hospital), Kath Freely (Chief Allied Health Information Officer, Parkville EMR) and Steph Chau (Director EMR Optimisation, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre), delegates heard about trends in patient engagement – including diversity learnings.

Soon after, we were naturally excited to see the Imaging IT session. The “Imaging Diagnostics” breakout session” was hosted by Dr Amrita Kumar (Consultant Radiologist and Clinical AI Lead, Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust), Julian Gully (Chief Information Officer, Integral Diagnostics), Michael Lampron (CEO, Mach7 Technologies), Dr Rizwan Malik (Consultant Radiologist, NHS Bolton) and KLAS Research’s own Monique Rasband (Vice President, Strategy & Research, Imaging/Oncology). Roberto was also delighted to see AGFA HealthCare customer and Enterprise Imaging advocate, Gina Naughton (RIS/PACS Systems Manager) from Saolta HealthCare Group co-host the session – applying her vast experience from deploying Enterprise Imaging solutions and sharing best-practices with the group.

In the next breakout session, “Solution Optimisation”, event participants heard from Andrew Blanch (Clinical Director, Digital Health Branch, Queensland Health), Michel Amous (Managing Director EMEA, InterSystems), Nathaniel Alexander (Chief Nursing & Midwifery Information Officer, NSW Health), Thomas Webb (CEO, Ethical Healthcare) and, speaking from a foundation enriched with sound sector data, Chandler Katschke (Arch Collaborative Client Success Manager) from KLAS Research.

Another pivotal point on the agenda for #TeamAGFA, KLAS then compered the “Customization & Vendor Collaboration Impact” tabletop discussion. With a room full of healthtech pioneers and Thought Leaders in one room, this session was set to explore transferable strategy anchors and interesting perspectives.

It was an honour to be involved in a content-rich event; an impressive schedule completed with excellent standards of hospitality and organisation from KLAS Research’s part.

Insights from leading industry executives, round-table discussion panels, and the sharing of measured, credible data. It is this specialism where KLAS Research really does offer something quite unique to the market.

We extend our gratitude for the ongoing support and also to all summit contributors for an outstanding event.
