Enterprise Imaging Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS)
Flexible workflows to support ultrasound images captured at the point of care
POCUS exams are performed and reported by the treating physician to promptly determine the best treatment for the patient. They often take place in fast-paced areas, such as emergency departments and intensive care unit units, anesthesia or within an ambulance, before the patient’s arrival at the hospital.
Because they are generally unscheduled, there may not be any of the electronic order information created beforehand for traditional ultrasound exam workflows.
With Enterprise Imaging POCUS, encounter workflows, multi-procedural exam acquisition, clinical and education reporting workflows are all supported by our analytical data reports – to meet your Quality Assurance needs.
“On-the-fly” exams
Storage, accessibility and quick availability are key to the effective use of ultrasound for emergency medicine. For encounter workflows, Enterprise Imaging automatically receives ADT or SUI data upon registration within the department. This allows the patient metadata to be populated automatically on the device modality worklist for quick accurate clinical workflows. Upon completion of the exam, images are stored in our centralized imaging platform and accessible via a link to our universal viewer from within your EHR.
Education and skill evaluation
As the use of ultrasound has become mainstream in emergency medicine, a need has emerged to ensure that a standard quality of care is provided. Enterprise Imaging POCUS offers an educational quality analysis module to help support your educational needs, based on the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP)-recommended Clinical Ultrasound Accreditation Program (CUAP). Enterprise Imaging offers residency workflows for capture, storage, reporting and overview grading of educational and clinically diagnostic exams. Analytical queries of this data are available via Enterprise Imaging’s Business Intelligence module.
